In 2019, a €340,000 container of Volakas marble arrived in Shanghai — wrong color grade, wrong client, wrong everything. Three months to resolve. Relationships damaged. Margin destroyed.
That container wasn't the first. It wasn't the last. But it was the one that made us ask: Why is a $43.8 billion industry (Grand View Research, 2024) still running on spreadsheets and phone calls?
